Here are my latest finds and news from fashion, design, photography and beautiful living.
We are experiencing 27+ degrees these days. It’s only the end of April and, as much as I love summer, I wish we had our four-season climate back. But I don’t think I want to get into that subject. However, this reminds me of the little things we all can do to try and make a difference, like planting a tree in your own garden, or, if you don’t have one, like in my case, bring flowers into your home and grow them in beautiful planters. And don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers. Just the other day, as I was walking on the street, I overheard something startling: a middle-aged man was telling someone that that day he sat on a bench in the park for the first time in 15 years and that he felt so relieved when he took that moment off. Don’t let that happen.
• 7 ways to look better in photos: I’ve learned most of them in time and they really work
• Loving these how-to videos from Homegrown Swedes, so beautifully presented and hear-warming. I’ve only watched the ones featuring bread making in a bakery in Rosendal’s Garden, Stockholm, and Karin Erkisson’s pottery making, but there are more.
• I always find myself studying closeup photos, especially when it’s the work of a photographer like Line Klein
• This saddle bag by Grafea in just right for the warm season, practical and stylish
• A snapshot of Mario Testino in 20 odd questions
• My Amalfi Coast, by Amanda Tabberer: a promise to take me back to one of my favourite trips
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Love love love these links, Ada! First of all, thank you for the reminder for the Garance’s post – I saw it, left to read later and forgot… Busy week, all I can say. And the bag you found is so classic and beautiful (the toffee colour is yummy!)
Off to browse the rest and read the interview with MT.
Have a wonderful weekend, darling!

I have just finished Garance’s post, great one, full of tips for me, I think I will try the next days to use what I read! I heard that pottery making is so relaxing, Ada. Well, I do not know what to say about this early summer, in a way I am glad my feet are not cold anymore :D, but yesterday my car was showing 30 degrees and I did not feel well.Have a lovely weekend!
beautiful!
Sitting here with my Friday pizza + glass of red watching the rain and spring blossoms. Just love your photo of that flower. Beautiful shot.
I think I’m in love with that Homegrown Swedes page. I have been watching some of the videos. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing that one.
Enjoy your sunny and warm weekend!
In 7 way to look better on photos, I loved Garance’s point about Ulyana Sergeenko. I am actually a huge fan of Ulyana’s dresses. And what do you think of this russian designer?
Nadya, to answer your question, I like the originality of Ulyana’s designs. She does her own thing and I like that.
I love your weekly links and somehow I missed Garance’s post about how to look good in pictures…thank you so much Ada!
I have seen those Homegrown Swedes videos before – they are sooo magical! Love the fresh veggies and aoili. I just read the photo tips from Garance this morning also – love those. And the interview with Mario Testino was a great read too… Thanks for sharing Ada:)xx
