Mise en scène, a photography experiment that will sometimes present some of my most loved wardrobe items in close up, and some other times will serve as inspiration board, a play of colours, textures, prints, collages – my scrapbook.
Here is one of my favourite checked scarves, along with a gift from my friend and talented designer, Mary Jo Matsumoto, a leopard calf hair card-holder, that is so chic that it gives me the courage I’ve been gathering for already too long a time to try animal print in a bigger scale. Like a pair of pointed toe pumps or a clutch – that’s also the farthest I’ll ever go I think. But one thing is for sure: mixing these checks with this print looks nothing less than timeless.

Ada, what a wonderful wonderful photo! And I adore the card holder very much. x
Love the textures here– I want to reach out and touch this!
The photo is beautiful, so is everything in it, and I love the background.
That cardholder … I could easily start coveting it!
the photograph is really wonderful to showcase this piece. i love that that is a card holder. what a perfect bold design and exotic textile for a little package. love mary jo, and her obviously her designs too : )
Love the idea of a daily luxury too, Christine.
A gorgeous photo Ada, and a great idea for a new series. That calf-skin cardholder is beautiful – I don’t own any animal print items and I’m beginning to think I might be missing out.
I’m so sorry I missed this earlier in the month Ada! The photo is gorgeous! And I’m so glad you are enjoying your card holder. I’ve gotten so dependent on mine (I have the stingray) I almost can’t imagine life without it, lol.
xo Mary Jo
I’m enjoying the card holder very much, Mary Jo. It’s so beautiful that I don’t want to put it back into the bag. 🙂
