Every season I dedicate at least one blog post to this style. And many more days to outfits bearing more or less military elements. It has that impression on me. And clearly on the fashion world, as the military uniform has proven to be one of the designers’ richest sources of ideas; its enduring quality has earned it a permanent seat in the front row. Season after season, decade after decade. As for colour, green is the one I prefer these days. As for look, the first one below has stolen my heart (and I will give it a go soon): the sober parka matched with the feminine dress, the opposite roughness and delicacy of the fabrics, I even like the different hemline lengths. By the way, let’s not forget that the wristwatch, the one item that I never leave the house without and the object of my permanent desire, was a World War I innovation.
On a slightly different note: do you ever get the feeling that you love certain details or part of an outfit and when you see the whole look it’s not quite what you had imagined it would be? I do, many times. In those cases I choose to show less, the detail takes.
We had two glorious spring days this past weekend and I hope the weather stays warm for the entire week. Have a good one!

yes, me too!!
now I want a parka… have an amazing week dear!
Hi sweetie! This olive green shade is so beautiful and I can wear it all the time, paired with tans, a touch of white and a few bits of gold. I would love to try the first look and if I had the right parka I definitely would (I’m still looking for the one…)
To answer your question – I do get into a situation like this once in a while, so I sometimes take time to try several outfits and combinations at once, just to select the keepers and stop thinking of the bunch that isn’t going to work. I used to imagine a certain outfit in my mind and put it on next morning without trying things first and sometimes it was a disaster. ๐
Glad to hear you had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great, too.
Have a wonderful week!

Love army green! Am currently looking for a short trench version! Happy Monday xoxo
I had just been admiring this look recently + thinking what a great classic wardrobe addition a military trench would make – so chic + very timeless. Hope you have a lovely start to the week Ada ๐ xx
Oh I totally get it! Parka is my middle name! In summer and winter. I like the original roomy M65 fish tail parka in winter and for spring summer I have light weight versions in different styles and 2 weeks ago I dug out my Italian original olive flying pants with zips at the bottom. This never goes out of style, that’s the good thing.
So chic! I always think this look won’t work, but then of course it does!
This shade is beautiful and simply perfect for certain clothes like a parka and a fitted coat. Actually, yesterday I decided it was time to wear my green/grey parka for the first time this year: it’s an essential transition piece between cold and warm season and viceversa. I really like the idea of styling this item with a girlie dress to get a great contrast, and I think I’m going take inspiration from the first and second picture and try to add a leather belt…Regarding your qestion, of course it happened to me several time and I also tend to go for the ‘less is more (refined)’ approach. Ada, have a great week!
Love those coats, but I think I like the cape the best!! So much inspiration in this post, I love that shade of green
Ada, I honestly had zero appreciation for this colour until I started reading your blog. You manage to find the most flattering and beautiful items and I now find myself wishing I owned all of them! Online shopping beckons!
Hello Ada, hope you are well?
Now that I’ve read your blog for a while, I know that you love military green ๐ It’s so lovely!

That third coat! There are no words!
I do love this look Ada, I wish military green looked better with my skin tone, although that said, I’m just about to buy another Equipment blouse in…military green. Hope you are off to a wonderful new week!

The first two pictures are definitely my favourite ones.
I am searching for the perfect military jacket myself. I have one currently but the length is shorter and the color lighter than I would like. I like how the woman in the second to last photo styled her jacket with high heeled boots – very unexpected but works perfectly.
It’s quite amazing how beautiful, chic and elegant can a fabric which was invented for a military purposes look in a daily life!
