It may have been shot on location at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, but this cinematic photograph by none other than Peter Lindbergh takes me to Venice, to a romantic encounter. I’ve seen this beautiful ’40s style dress on catwalk, but I feel like only now I see it for the first time. It’s found its uniqueness, because it dresses up a character. That’s the beauty of clothes, they have to find their heroines to come to life. Why are so few fashion campaigns able to tell a story?

As soon as I saw that photo I knew that it would need to go up on a wall in a frame. I have only seen one other photo from the campaign and am looking forward to seeing the rest.
They’ve only released two campaign shots so far, but this one stands out for me. I’m curious about the other photos too, but I don’t think I’ll like those more than this one.

I absolutely agree with you! That’s probably why there are very few campaigns that I really like… Bottega never disappoints me, though. I am in love with this photo, too. Even added it to my instagram. 🙂 I wish I could have the dress – would be a dream come true… Everything about the clothes and this shot is just beautiful. x
The cinematic look of this image is really beautiful as is the dress. To be able to convey a story through a single image is indeed an art.

Ada, I think this may well be my favourite one-picture post yet! I totally agree with Lisa, it needs to be framed and displayed immediately! I love the contrast of the hard set of her mouth and the frown in comparison to the soft floral dress.

I love how warm this photograph is. She wears the dress. I love her confidence. And I agree, only a few ‘tell a story’.
