This look could very well be one of my summer uniforms. I’ve often donned a similar outfit for the last couple of weeks: a floral printed pencil skirt and a military shirt. When I found this J. Crew look, styled and worn by Garance Doré, I was even more convinced of its timeless appeal. I think that the red iPad case is a nice touch, too, and could very well be translated into a red day-clutch. The colour palette here and the pairing of florals and sequins with utilitarian are interesting enough to lend the look an eclectic vibe (it’s J. Crew, after all), but the styles of the garments are classic, so elegance doesn’t have to suffer either. It’s modern, and effortless, and upbeat, and pretty darn perfect!

I only have one question, why is that shirt not in my wardrobe? I like the case too but the skirt is not something I would wear. There was a time I was all about skirts but now not so much.
Hope your week is starting off well!
i love pencil skirts. i don’t often wear them (not very kid friendly, it’s not very playing around on the floor). but someday i plan to wear them much more often. and i love the casual look of this ensemble.
It really is a great classic look. I actually want to play with a similar look but a chambray shirt.
