No autumn wardrobe is complete without a tweed coat. It is an emblem of everyday glamour. Highly adaptable, undeniably elegant, one of the most traditional and rustic of fabrics that always looks modern. Chanel has been doing it for decades. In mannish shapes or slim lines, I love how it works with everything, from the white shirt or turtlenecks to the bohemian floral dress. And Ralph Lauren is another name that comes into my mind.

You just reminded me I have a tweed blazer but I didn’t get to wear it this season and now it’s too late because it’s freezing outside π
I don’t seem to be able to work tweed, it’s just not my thing so I simply admire it on those who can.
Love that first photo!
I like the coat in the third picture very much, so feminine and chic! I like tweed, I have a 3/4 sleeves coat for autumn (beige, brown and grey, don’t be surprised, I am more than a girl in a pink/green/yellow coat :D) and it makes wonders for my wardrobe. However, I still did not found the perfect long gloves to go with and I think I’ll wait for the spring to wear it again cause it’s freezing outside!

Love the pictures and tweed coats! xoxo
I love the classics, especially when they’re twisted, shifted, extreme or re-worked.
So, I love tweed, especially worn as a total look π from head to toe!
That’s one thing I’ve always wanted, my ideal “baby” is the one from Vogue UK (last photo – I LOVE LOVE LOVE that editorial). I know eventually it will find its way to my wardrobe. π

You made me realize I am missing a tweed coat in my wardrobe! These photos are inspiring…it is a definite staple!
So classically chic! I think I’m a little in love with number 3! xoxo

This Week: “Anticipation”
Love this post, Ada! Tweed is one of my favorite fabrics–we don’t get enough chance to wear it here, but it’s such a great fabric, sort of street-wear before it’s time. My favorite piece was a Calvin Klein couture jacket my dad bought me in college. Now that he is gone, it has even more meaning.

I can only imagine how much you love it, Mary Jo. I am sure it is beautiful.
And especially love the colors on this one. So pretty!
beautiful coats, I love tweed for fall!
OMG! I love tweed! it’s perfect for this season! a classic that simply never dies!
The problem with me, of course, is maintenance; the fabric just does not last for long enough… you know, fibres sticking out, getting pulled out, getting stuck somewhere… and I really love a tweed blazer or coat!…(sigh)…
Love the top tweed with the very industrial necklace!
Yes, yes, absolutely … the first jacket is Gorgeous! Tweed is a must for winter. I would definitely wear that….
Have a great day. Helen:)
So undeniably elegant and definitely a timeless wardrobe essential. Lovely post Ada! xx
I love the #4. Even though it is from 2009, who cares? It is absolutely stunning and I love the design. Tweed is definitely one of my favorite fabrics, and I think it is so classic and stunning!
Style is timeless. Who wears only this season’s clothes? Once you find a perfect piece you invest in it and have it for years. π
your post is a great inspiration for my new post!
Thanks for your sweet comments.

Dear Ada,
You forgot to mention how soft and comforting a tweet jacket or coat can be. When made of good quality are soft…
