As the holiday season unfolds I always find myself driven by the same impulse: to stay away from the whirlwind of shopping, merrymaking and the madness of the crowds rushing around and try not to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Take a moment to reflect upon the past year, enjoy the time spent with your loved ones and never cease to believe in whatever makes you happy and keeps you going. Create your own traditions. This is one of mine: going to a play, ballet or concert on a December evening. And after the curtain falls, still brimming with the delight of the performance, take a walk in two in the, by now, empty streets, musing over the holiday lights and window displays. I would love to hear one of your holiday traditions.

My holiday tradition is to watch almost every evening Christmas movies with my family and bake a lot of goodies 😉 And on christmas day we all gather at my parents’ house.
I LOVE this editorial Ada. I adore all that black lace and embroidery and sequins…Those lace masks are fabulous and something I always imagined wearing to a masquerade ball. I’m going to save some of these images for my files!

A walk at Birling Gap on Boxing day with my boys, xmas walks in our woods, a break from work when our company actually shuts so we have our one holiday of the year (to change as of 2012), a trip to London for a couple of days culminating in New Year – just time with my man really – never enough of that xx

I always host a candlelight Christmas Eve dinner at my home for my family(18 of us), and we love a quiet dinner together before the chaos of the next day…it’s wonderful!!
I’m so touched by your words, Ada! I love all the festivities of the holidays but taking moments to remember why we’re celebrating is so important. I’m hoping to have some more time for that this weekend.
Gorgeous pictures!
gorgeous photos!

My holiday tradition is that we go over to a family friend’s house for Christmas dinner followed by a party at my best friend’s house on the evening of Christmas Day. Since I won’t be in San Diego this year, I am looking for new traditions!

All the very best,

Beautiful editorial Ada! Your holiday traditions sound wonderful! Mine revolve around family and a lot of food, but always taking the time to give thanks and remember the true meaning behind Christmas. And Christmas eve is always spent listening to Carols (Michael Buble this year!) whilst wrapping all of my presents xx
These pictures are really gorgeous and artsy. I love the masks that some of the girls are wearing.

My daughter and I have started a new tradition. We walk everyday around 4:30 and look at all of the pretty twinkling lights around the neighborhood. So fun taking different routes, and gives time to reflect! 🙂
