You always notice the person wearing a great shirt. A classic that, for me, holds just as much appeal as a perfect pair of jeans. Shirt Stories is about others who feel the same, women and men, and who wear it well.
The weather is roughly reliable these days. We are heading into winter, after all, and we have just experienced out first snow of the year on a weekend getaway. Getting dressed will become synonymous with layering for about the next four months. But this doesn’t have to be and look as boring as it sounds. Adding the shirt to the mix is a key ingredient to keep the look interesting. Because comfortable and cosy is good, but comfortable and cosy with intention is even better. And I think this is the reason I still showcase bits of style inspiration on the blog: I do believe putting a thought into dressing in the morning is good for you and those around you, for your own state of mind and a sign of respect to the others.
And as long as we are on the subject of winter shirt, make it visible. Play with hem and sleeve lengths. A shirt under a sleeveless sweater dress, or a long shirt under a knitted vest and over the knee boots, or simply a silky shirt much longer than the pullover atop, now that’s the kind of winter style that speaks to me. Individuality.
