After the very first clothes that came on the runway I knew where to seek for Ralph Lauren’s inspiration for his spring 2012 collection. The roaring ’20s, the Jazz Age, or only a few decades ago, in 1974, in the costumes he designed for the movie The Great Gatsby. Ralph Lauren remains true to the American culture and brings back all the glamour and sophistication of the past. I admit I rapidly viewed the strong pastels day wear and then stopped to admire every evening gown. These are the ones I loved: in white, ivory, powdery pink and shining metallics, those beautiful 1920s silhouettes, flapper dresses and heavily flowing long ones, glimmering with heavy beading and ostrich feather or accessorised with cloche hats and loops of pearls. It was like a scene from a movie. One I would watch over and over again. Whatever your plans are I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The white outfit with trousers… stunning!
Beautiful collection and I cannot wait to see The Great Gatsby. The dresses are stunning, but I have a soft spot for the wide leg trousers, such a great silhouette. Have a lovely w-e Ada!
