This older Burberry Prorsum fall campaign epitomises many of the things I love about autumn: sober, impeccably-cut coats, ageless trenches, knitwear, emblematic tartans (in short the perfect attire for the season), plus that very British atmosphere: charming countryside, family heritage, the romance and traditions of England. Demure, but eccentric too. I never tire of a beautiful fashion story.
photos: Mario Testino, Burberry Prorsum AW 1998 ad campaign
I can honestly say this one and a few others are some of my most favourite Testino works. I loved older Burberry ad campaigns very much. x
Campaigns, editorials, they all used to be more beautiful in the past (and I don’t mean vintage ones, but 10, 20 years old). I have two other Burberry campaigns (SS 1998 and AW 1999) that along with this one are my all-time favourites.
Whenever I am in London, I feel that the Brits are so much more stylish than the Dutch. They really make a good effort to present themselves. All will be well btw, thanks for asking! xoxo
I feel a bit of Jules et Jim in this pictorial…:) Amazing British texture though! It’s wonderful to see such beautiful old campaigns. Nobody does them as well as they used to although they all try to imitate.
Beautiful post.
Have a great day

Ada, everytime you post an editorial that you love, it really gives me a picture of you! Classic, fun, feminine, stylish, natural… I love the second last image– its just magic! 🙂
That top coat is a forever one. Love how the Brits dress – they don’t try and be always “cute” like some of the American woman, they will take risks and put it out there.
