As December is a special month I have decided to approach it a little differently on Classiq. Decorating, gift wrapping and gift ideas, Christmas traditions, special features and favourite finds, all in the spirit of this wonderful holiday. More Christmas inspiration you can find here.
* Books are always one of the best ideas for gifts and these two are my latest finds: (1) Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel, which chronicles 50 years of international fashion and shows fashion as it was being invented and how Vreeland shaped American taste through her superb vision; (2) Jean Renoir’s autobiography, My Life And My Films.
* I think you know by now how much I love hand-written cards and notes and this time of year they have an even more special meaning. These Georgianna Lane holiday gift tags are so beautiful.
* I’ve made a passion for these Christmas cards and notebooks. I am lucky to find them in my favourite bookstore here and every year I buy a few.
* In December we couldn’t overlook Christmas movies recommendations here on Classiq, but as my guest writer shared a special Cinema December series last year, although written in Romanian, we decided not to feature them again and instead just make a note of the films in hope it will be useful to you. I guarantee that any of these will get you into the holiday mood and be lovely to watch in the evening of 24th: (1) It’s A Wonderful Life; (2) The Shop Around The Corner; (3) The Bishop’s Wife
; (4) Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
; (5) Christmas In Connecticut
; (6) The Man Who Came To Dinner
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

P.S. I found Belle de Jour online last night and watched it. I think most of the time I spent admiring the clothes rather then concentrating on the storyline… 🙂

Dear Ada,
Your images are outstanding, as always. Love the image of the young girl dragging the Christmas tree. I wish I look like that in a few hours when we go to pick out our trees.
