• “A piece of jewellery should be a symbol of love. It should enhance and move with the body so that it blends with you. It must not overwhelm, but enhance you. This is why it must be timeless” – Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927-2004)
Lately I’ve been reading a lot about Swedish jewellery designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe. She has had a huge influence on both Swedish and Danish modern design ever since she started selling her minimalist silver pieces, which echoed the flow of water and relented to the body’s contours. She would visit the high-end hotels in Paris and look for artists like Picasso and celebrities to get down in the lobby so she could show them her collections. Her most iconic pieces are the Dew Drop earrings and necklaces and the revolutionary bangle-watch, “The Vivianna/Open Watch”, she designed for the world-renowned Danish brand Georg Jensen, for which she began to work exclusively in 1969. In the reference book Twentieth Century Jewelry she was described by Barbara Cartlidge as a “milestone in the history of modern jewelry.”

Beautiful jewellery! It’s not 100% me, but I do like the lines very much. Off to read the menu ideas and Anna’s interview.
Hope you are having a great day!

That first necklace is so interesting— I love the lines! Both delicate and strong. Nice finds!!!
This story is just fascinating and I will have to find out more about Vivianna. Love that long pendant the model is wearing with a black dress! Also going to check out your links. Hope you’re having a good week Ada, here it is rainy and gray.

Oh that candy shop in Stockholm… I could work there too! But maybe I’ll have too many opportunities for tastings? Its just gorgeous. I enjoyed the interview with Anna Wintour – very interesting. And those handmade paper trees look like fun! But those Czech biscuits for christmas – they will have to be made this xmas! Thanks for sharing Ada.. Hope your week has been good 🙂
Always always always enjoy your notebook pages! Going to sit with my cup of coffee and read up 🙂

Her pieces were so unique (I love that photo with Picasso). I would not mind having that watch, and this is coming from someone who never wears a watch.
As always, I love the links, especially the holiday theme in them.
