Mr Porter

We are all familiar with the phenomenon Net A Porter. What do you think of Mr Porter, its cousin website dedicated to men’s luxury goods, launched only last month? It looks elegant and select, it’s not just an online store, it has a lot of editorial content, it’s a complete, informed style guide, which I think men and women alike will appreciate. {There will be little use of the word fashion on the site. I think men feel more comfortable with the word style”, says Jeremy Langmead, editor in chief of Mr Porter. “A stylish wardrobe rather than a fashion wardrobe.”}WSJ

And now I come to my favourite part, the style directory, including insider tips from the most stylish and best connected men, advice for the most pressing questions, inspiration from bygone stars, the Stylepedia (a glossary for men’s fashion – it doesn’t hurt to run it over for remembering or learning new facts) and video manuals with the best men in the business, like Sir Paul Smith who talks about those small and interesting touches, which help men stand out in a subtle way. And all presented in the most classical way possible, mainly black and white photos and videos. We, girls, can steal some great tips from here, both for us and for the men in our lives.
