Black and white is in constant rotation in my wardrobe. And now that flats have become the norm when it comes to my footwear, for the first time since I was in elementary school I find myself coveting a pair of sports shoes that are not Converse: the Isabel Marant sneakers that I would team with black wide legged trousers and layers of tops for a pared down look. A white bag though, another first, would be the center piece in this ensemble. And who to turn to if not to my favourite bag designer, Mary Jo Matsumoto? Her new bag line is out and I have my eyes on the Salt Creek soft tote, with contrast hits of black piping and soft black calf handles: a spin on the black and white stripe trend of Spring/Summer 2013, but in the Mary Jo Matsumoto signature subtle style she has used us to in interpreting trends: her designs transcend fashion and the season’s de rigueur white bag becomes year-round appealing in her hands.

Have a great week everyone!
