Mise en scène #5

Mise en scene #5
Summer is less than a month away and I am starting to play with the safari style. After all, it expresses utility and the softened frontier between feminine and masculine appeal, two of my favourite style themes. A far-flung adventure may not be in my near future plans (although I was watching The African Queen the other night and my imagination got a little carried away – the photo of Lauren Bacall is from the set of the film; she was accompanying Bogart), but the safari shirt (this one is from Massimo Dutti) is an ideal option for a tamer, city-ready take on the style, too. Whether paired with a pencil skirt and high-heeled lace-up sandals, with jeans and loafers, or with white wide-legged trousers and flat strappy sandals, it proves just how versatile it can be, one of the classics of summer wardrobe.
