How can you pick your favourites from all that beauty? There were some great shows, beautiful collections altogether and many, many pieces scattered along the Milan Fashion Week which have found their way to my heart. It was hard to make a final selection, but here are my choices, along with the Dolce & Gabbana collection I talked about earlier this week.
Etro: I love Asian influence in fashion and Veronica Etro did a beautiful job in this regard. With a more diversity in prints than usual, attention to details, kimono jackets and fluid silhouettes, this was a lovely collection.
c
Gucci: for the beautiful evening dresses in those bold shades of green and blue and black and white and the fabulous ruffle details adorning the bare backs of the gowns.
Bottega Veneta bags will forever have my heart. The most beautiful braided bags there are and the appliqued butterflies made them even more so, suffice to explain the extraordinary craftsmanship and finesse that goes into their making: ‘symbols, perhaps, of a certain lightness of touch and of an undeniable prettiness’ (Hamish Bowles). And let’s not forget about the dresses, because Mr. Maier knows how to make a dress. And some of these day dresses look, and I’m sure that they feel too, so incredibly luxurious. I think its their meaning to make you feel special when you wear them.
c
Fendi: for the gorgeous colour scheme, graphic patterns and architectural shapes, make-up, statement bracelets, the entire presentation and this dress below: it would be one of my favourite wardrobe additions for next summer.
And because I can’t think of summer without thinking of the safari style, and because I’ll always love utility, minimalism and edgy designs in fashion, I have to include these looks from MaxMara, Trussardi, Salvatore Ferragamo and Gianfranco Ferré.

Which were your favourites at Milan Fashion Week? Paris is underway and I already have a favourite and I have a feeling he’s going to remain on top of the list. Wishing you a wonderful and sunny weekend! Don’t miss the guest film feature tomorrow.

So much loveliness! I love your selections Ada – I would add Ports 1961, Marni and Alberta Ferretti also in that mix. It started in NY with DVF for me and it keeps getting better – I love all the colour! 🙂 Hope you have a lovely weekend x
You and me both, Bottega Veneta -you know where we are! 😉
I managed to catch Fendi’s show live, I mean wow! The bags were gorgeous too.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Nice colection.
You know, every time I see back shots, I think “why, oh why, they don’t show every outfit like that?!” Such a shame…
I loved your choices very much – I thought Fendi had a few great looks and so did Ferre (I actually included it in my post at first, but then removed to make it shorter… cruel little me!)
Have a beautiful day and wonderful weekend, darling!

P.S. Sunshine was gladly received! 🙂
I also had chosen Bottega Veneta as a favorite, Mr. Maier just did it again, he impressed us to butterflies, Ada 😉 I am amazed to see Fendi here as they were so amazingly colored! :*
PS: I did see “Out of Africa” and admired also your blog about their costumes, but did not see “Doubt”, thank you for the recommendation 😉 Have a lovely weekend !
i love the bogetta dress and the fendi styling – love the fendi jackets! i love all your picks from the bogetta dress down. i have been seeing a lot of sheer and the take on the kimono, i haven’t been loving as much.
The back on that long black dress is killing me. Lovely picks Ada.
Choosing a favourite from the Milan gorgeousness?!! I don’t think I can. This was my favourite fashion week in a long time. The photos you picked have some of my favourite pieces and I have to add that I love that photo by The Sartortialist from the Gucci show; it’s so beautiful.
Jil Sander! Maxmara was beautiful too.
Lovely collections. I really enjoyed the Asia influence in Etro too. Also the 60s influence in Gucci. The bags in Bottega are always classics!
