I’ve always thought of spring as a great time to try out new things, in general and style-wise, but, at the same time, as a great time to rework the classics, like black and white. A perennial favourite of mine, black and white also stormed the Spring 2014 runways. And the first destination to turn to for modern classics is Mary Jo Matsumoto. On the brink of spring, Mary Jo’s beautiful black & white pieces look so crisply modern and romantic, without losing a bit of their back to basics appeal. I would see the Salt Creek mini cross-body against a black jumpsuit and pointed-toe flats or the Salt Creek shopper paired with a light blue shirt, white jeans and black loafers. One thing is for sure, any of the the designer’s bags in these neutral hues will see you through the season to come.
