I’ve been a fan of Maria Filipescu’s jewellery ever since I wrote about her Bounds collection on my blog two years ago. Two weekends ago I went with one of my best friends to the Autor: Contemporary Jewelry Fair and we were both so pleasantly surprised with the beautiful pieces displayed, the works of some amazingly talented Romanian jewellery designers. I instantly recognized Maria’s designs, tried this bracelet on and didn’t want to take it off. I’ve been wearing it ever since. I love its uniqueness and hand craftsmanship: it symbolizes a leaf, not only in shape, but in lightness too – it’s much more fragile and delicate than it looks in the photo. Not just visually beautiful, not just an aesthetic object, it has a meaning and a story and it seems designed to bring harmony and positive energy to its wearer…it does.
