I hope your holidays were wonderful and that you’re embracing 2013 wholeheartedly and with a smile on your face. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new year, as I got to spend it in one of my favourite cities, London. I’ve been to London in different times of the year, but never for the holidays and I didn’t think I would love it even more than I already did. But now I do. We attended a New Year’s Eve party in Slough and then just explored the dressed up city both by day and night, despite the rain, for the rest of our stay.
However, the highlight of my trip was that I finally met one of my favourite designers, wonderful Mary Jo Matsumoto. We went to see the Valentino: Master of Couture exhibition together at Somerset House (more about that next week) and then my husband and I joined Mary Jo for a lovely evening at the Caxton Bar at St Ermin’s Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, elegant and filled with history (read more about it on Trust Your Style; there’s a picture of Mary Jo and me too) and the Christmas decorations only added to its charm and I am sorry now that I only took the photos below of it. The atmosphere was so relaxed and cheerful, maybe the champagne cocktails we had helped just a little too, and I truly had a great time, which I hope she did too. This made it my favourite trip to London so far.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Sounds like you had a fantastic time, Ada! Shame about the weather, though. We had so many plans, but most were spoilt by the rains and wind.

Lovely photos Ada… and a great way to finish up the day too! Lucky you getting to see the Valentino exhibition…:)xx
The photos are wonderful; the city looks so beautifully decorated at this time of year, so festive. I’m so glad you had the chance to meet Mary Jo and that you got to go to the exhibition together. She was telling me about it yesterday at a café. We just got back home after driving her to the airport. I only wish she could have stayed longer in Luxembourg.
