I had even forgotten about the launch of the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection last Thursday. Imagine my surprise when I arrived late at the store and still managed to find a few items I loved and brought home – true, I got the last piece of each. Admittedly, I didn’t know what to expect from the collection. Yes, I had viewed it online and there were a few styles that appealed to me (the most minimalist ones, because I’m not exactly an Isabel Marant print girl), but I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the fabrics. And the composition was exactly what made me buy the coat I eventually chose. The blend of wool, alpaca and mohair feels wonderful and it was what made this particular coat stand out from all the other coats. I loved the charcoal colour and the three-quarter sleeves very much too – to be worn with turtlenecks with the sleeves showing from under the coat’s, one of my favourite layering styles, or with long leather gloves.
The navy cap was a natural choice, as I obviously love hats and they are an accessory that suits me. The flat suede boots, however, were a surprise purchase. It’s not a style I would normally go for, as the leather tassels and metallic detail are something I would usually consider an unnecessary embellishment, a far cry from my simple taste. But I decided to give them a try: I’ve learned that sometimes you should go for something different and step out of your comfort zone, because you just might have a nice surprise. It worked.

Love the herringbone! but where are the boots?? I agree; sometimes something different might surprise you and your wardrobe…:) Enjoy your new purchases.
Well, I decided not to photograph everything, so I left the boots out. I wanted to keep it simple, visually speaking. 🙂
Aren’t you a lucky girl to actually get one of the coats?! Shame about not seeing the boots, though… x
Looks and sounds like you acquired some really classic and lovely finds from this collab.

great choice. i always love a herringbone wool coat. and i really love the color blend in this one. xx
I’m so glad you got some pieces Ada! I didn’t even bother looking and if I buy anything it will most likely be a pair of her regular line boots – but now you have me rethinking the blazers. I love her style but there are so many other choices where I live of gauzy materials that her blouses etc. usually are sewn from that I have never sprung for one, although I will have to check out the wool pieces.

Oh, beautiful clothes. The Isabel Marant collection didn’t arrive to Lugano. A pity!
