Last week Christophe Lemaire presented his last collection for Hermès (he is departing after four years to focus on his eponymous label and his place will be taken by Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski, who has worked for Maison Martin Margiela and Céline and is the former creative director of The Row). I loved the work he’s done for Hermès, making a luxurious, quiet, but everlasting statement with his clothes – exactly what I’ve always associated the French legendary fashion house with. The Spring 2015 collection, one of my favourites from Paris Fashion Week, very linear and discrete, with a remarkable attention to detail and bearing an easy elegance, in a serene colour palette with navy, mustard, red and orange accents, felt soothing and in a league of its own among the rest of the shows that took place during fashion month.

I completely agree with you, this collection is sublime. I found many of the other collections very disappointing.
Definitely one of my favourites from PFW as well. You have picked some wonderful pieces. There was also a blue suit that I had a crush on and a blue patterned top. I won’t say that anyone is irreplaceable but I’m going to miss Lemaire’s design for Hermès.
such an interesting collection. it’s very reminiscent of ’80’s style to me: the tones, the oversized garments, and cinched wastes – but so elevated with fabulous tailoring and such a balance of proportions.
I love their new bag and the top coat.
