The Giles & Brother jewellery line had me at the first sight of their pied-de-biche cuffs. You may be familiar with my story about my love for all things equestrian, so it wouldn’t be too hard to figure out my interest in the brand. But it’s such a comforting feeling to discover pieces that perfectly reflect my own vision and aesthetic when it comes to certain influences. Jewellery design can easily seem stagnant today and I certainly have seen and tried my fair share of brands that have had their various interpretations of the said theme, but this one feels so personal, crafty with just the right rough-hewn finish, statement-worthy without standing out.
Alongside the equestrian themed pieces, there is also the coastal inspired part of the collection that rings a bell for me. It’s not only because I have always been a summer girl, but last year we took our trip to the Greek Western coast right after I had found out I was pregnant, which made it all the more special. A beautiful piece of jewellery is such a subtle way to hold precious moments close and alive. So yes, I can see how the brand’s creative items can become “enduring additions to the wearer’s personal narrative”.
