It’s one of those trends that will update my style this season. But not in a dress, coat or skirt. I fail to see the beauty (is there any?) or much less, a timeless item in any of those. But a snakeskin bag or a pair of shoes or, even better, embracing a more subtle form, a simple exotic skin detail, like the golden accents in this gorgeous Bottega Veneta woven clutch, could be the right accessory to transform my look. And as much as I think that Chloé really overdid it with this print in this fall’s collection, I absolutely love the round-toe pumps. If you choose it well and in the right doses, this is a trend that can easily set you apart from the crowd.
And I couldn’t resist posting this Jacob & Co campaign image starring Natalia Vodianova. It’s from the fall of 2008, but it would be so appropriate for this autumn, picking up so beautifully this trend, don’t you think so? I don’t really know if it would look good on anyone else, but on her it just does. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Love this trend so much! Happy Friday xx
Beautiful shots – loving all the snake print x
http://fashionandfrank.blogspot.com/
I don’t usually go for the snakeskin trend but I have got to say that I have fallen completely in love with that Bottega Veneta clutch! It’s so got my name on it! Have a lovely weekend Ada!
I’m on board with most of this (I + snakeskin … who knew?!!).
That clutch is oh so beautiful … I want it!
That clutch is gorgeous!
The round-toe pumps are gorgeous!
…and looks very confortable as well.
Great idea – a post about Bucharest, I would love to see some photos from your city! I’ve never been there, but heard a lot about its beauty.
I have a Romanian friend – here in Oslo! Last time she told me what palinka was
@design traveller
I haven’t had this curiosity so far, can you believe it?
I hope I will post something about Bucharest soon. So now you know what “palinca” is. You’ll have to try it too now.
I have a complicated relationship with snakeskin things.
I tried adopting them once or twice, but we don’t seem to get along too well. Don’t get me wrong – I do like the snakeskin shoes AND I adore BV, but it’s just not me. xxx
@Lisa@LittleRus
I know, Lisa, I wouldn’t have thought I could wear anything with a snakeskin print on a little while back. And to reply to LittleRus too, I had to try it to make sure it’s for me. And I did this past summer with a pair of Navyboot flat sandals I bought in Berlin. They are python skin and they are the most beautiful, elegant flat sandals I have ever had. I’m sorry I couldn’t photograph them, but my camera is officially broken and until i get a new one, a more professional one hopefully…I couldn’t believe my eyes when I put them on, it was love at first sight. But I know that this trend is not for everyone, i just loved this one item and realized that it can suit my style. xo
Snakeskin shoes, bags or wallets can oh so so pretty. Love the round pumps from Chloe, but you’re so right. It should stay subtle.
Enjoy your weekend Ada!
I only have a snake print belt and a blouse but I would love to buy a pair of shoes like the black ones above!!
Have a great weekend too!! xoxoxo
I agree Chloé compleeetely overdid it this season and I was never really a fan of snakeskin before anyway. BUT strangely enough today I have bought myself a pair of snakeskin trousers and I’m really loving it! I’m hoping I can still keep the look subtle when I wear it though!
Anyway, lovely post – happy weekend dear! x
@Fash n Chips
Christine, this means I’ll get to see you in your snakeskin trousers on your blog soon enough. A chance to convince me that this print can be stylish in other pieces as well. I’m sure you’ll pull this off.
That bag is amazing
Ada, I have the same approach to snakeskin (and actually the same can be applied to other animal-prints): I like it on accessories like bags – that beautiful Bottega Veneta woven clutch! – shoes and belts (specially the skinny models), but I’ve never been into snakeskin or snakeskin prints for clothes…Have a great w-e!

The yellow clutch is so precious…ohhh, my precious!!! I do not own anything on snakeskin and this is because until one year ago, I went for uni pieces. Only this spring I started to try the prints and I love them now, but little by little
and never say never. Anyhow, the BV clutch will be the most beautiful start
Have a nice and sunny weekend, Ada!
It’s a pretty cool trend, but I just can’t do it! I hate snakes!! Part of me wants to send my mom something like this because she is always trying to scare me with spider stuff (my biggest phobia) and hers is snakes so wouldn’t that be funny?!
But seriously, for those who aren’t afraid to wear this trend I commend you.
I think it is such a brilliant selection of suggestions. I am always very carefull when it comes to animal prints and things made out of snake skin…but I would absolutely love to have that beautiful clutch! Wishing you wonderful Fall weekend and sending many kind wishes your way.
I love snakeskin! It really is timeless and worth the investment when you’re talking accessories. I have quite a few clutches and shoes from probably about 10 years ago when it was in. I’m so excited to break them out this season in full force. I reach for them every now and again but this season I’m bringing them to the forefront of my wardrobe
Love love love them!!:)

Love the trend, it’s simply stunning! Especially the clutch in the first picture is wonderful looking…
Thanks for your nice comment on my blog! XX Nini
I love this snakeskin trend Ada! I’ve been wanting to buy a snakeskin clutch or a bag! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! xoxoxoo
I’m craving some snakeskin heels or a shoe with a snakeskin detail. I almost bought some the other day and now this post is making me sad that I missed out on them!
I’m loving this trend. Prada has some amazing turquoise bags out. I really love that first yellow clutch!
I think snakeskin accessories are timeless pieces, but I wouldn’t mind a pair of trousers with this print either
I saw a few pieces at Zara and I have my eyes on a pair of boots and a pair of pants.
I agree. I love snakeskin accessories, not too sure about clothing! I want that clutch.
Love the trend of snake skin; I already have a few pairs of snakeskin shoes in my wardrobe from the last time this was on trend. I will never tire of this look. Those heels in pic #4 are gorgeous! Hope you are well & having a lovely weekend xo
Ada,
I’m so obsessed with any kind of animal skin that I’m looking for a coffee table covered with any type of skin.
Ah, yes, love!
Love the yellow bag!!
