Frida Giannini takes autumn’s colours and style into spring. And she does it with 70s influences, the very kind I like – I never could resist those high boots paired with below-the-knee hemlines. And that’s a winning combination in my book. Practical with just the right amount of glam. Italian craftsmanship, vintage with a modern touch appeal. A nice balance between fluid silhouettes and military details, florals and clean lines. Feminine, but confident. Suede, a big trend for Spring 2015 and one of my favourite fabrics, had its share fare of spotlight at Gucci, too: trenches, tunics, dresses, all adding to the elegant wearability of the collection. Everything was completed by beautiful accessories, from printed scarves and braided leather belts to bucket and messenger bags, suede boots and camel sandals with snakeskin ankle straps. And I could wear everything right now. I love a collection that doesn’t seem to be pinned down to a singular season.

oh my gosh! this reminds me of my first style efforts. i was most definitely influenced by 70’s suede patterns and sleek cuts. i love everything here. it’s making me want to go back and try to make this my signature look again. that green dress? so gorgeous. but i would just be happy with that bag. love the bag. and i must add that top suede coat. so glad you shared this ada!
This was definitely one of my favourite collections in Milan. I have to add that after NYFW + LFW it was MFW that gave me a fashion high. One can always count on the Italian fashion houses to deliver.
I said thank God when MFW started. There were very few collections I liked at NYFW, but LFW held almost nothing of interest t me. Milan and Paris still make the rules when it comes to fashion.
