Dree Hemingway comes from an American first family in the artistic world. Her personal style comes through as classic American, too. Largely leaning towards masculine tailoring, whitout shying away from traditional feminine pieces and details, her look is effortless, natural, cool, daring, with a good sense of self. The one item she would never part with is her cashmere beanie, as I was reading in an interview. Great style has indeed a lot to do with practicality. Dree’s style references range from Katherine Hepburn to Kurt Cobain. Yes, I can clearly spot these influences in her dressing choices.
Coat weather inspiration: from an oversized coat in a beautiful jewelled, autumnal colour that further enhances the grungy look of a checked shirt outfit, to a classic shearling jacket-turtleneck pairing, or the indispensable camel outerwear styled in one of my favourite ways, over a denim jacket.
The feminine/masculine act, done to perfection.
In Ralph Lauren, double denim, or down-to-earth, rustic look made for a free spirit and adventurous, outdoorsy life: they all speak of all-American style.
Note: Some of these may be editorial images, but I think they really reflect Dree’s own style, especially that some of the pieces she wears in them, like the hat above, are her own.

It rankles me that the offspring of Hemingway are using that famous name but don’t read any of his books. Who’s to blame for this? I’d assume it’s the parents of & the parents of…….
They seem to be ok w/ that too which shows…………………..’ignorance’, maybe?
I would be ashamed to admit it. I also think it’s a big symbol how reading seems to be off the radar in America. Shame
