Cinema ianuarie: Summer Interlude (1951)

“[Summer Interlude]… was my first film in which I felt I was functioning independently, with a style of my own, making a film all of my own.” Ingmar Bergman
When a ballerina, Marie, reads the diary of a former boyfriend, Henrik, her first love, now dead, memories of a summer spent on an island near Stockholm come flooding back. The lyrical study of the power of young love is a poetic evocation of the burden of memory and the power of loss.
