What better way to start the week than with a new Chic Files feature, as the series is finally shaping up the way I want it, and some very inspiring looks I always seem to be too short of on Monday mornings of a stylish blogger I truly admire? Not only does she have an amazing wardrobe, but, most importantly, she also has a unique sense of style, wearing fearlessly and with an extraordinary laid back ease a Lanvin dress, a Missoni print or an YSL jacket. Claire from Fashion and Frank. And one more thing: nobody can wear an Azzedine Alaïa skirt by day like her. Welcome, Claire, and Frank!
How would you describe your style? Classic elements with a strong fashion bias.
Who are your style models? Oh so many, Giovanna Battaglia, Elena Perminova, Yasmin Sewell, to be honest all the wonderful women I see in style blogs every day.
Your signature day outfit: I don’t have one look in particular, but I do always dress to flatter my body – never tight but always somewhat form fitting and I love a hat and an accessory!
Your signature evening outfit: Always feminine – nearly always a heel – love the trench as a dress – statement shoe.
Is there an item you don’t leave the house without? My credit card??
Your favourite wardrobe piece: I have so many, but the trench is a firm fave.
5 pieces a woman should have in her closet: a trench, a pump, a shirt that fits, a perfect pencil skirt, an accessory that sums her up.
What is the most underrated piece in a woman’s wardrobe that should deserve more attention? Tights – I know – random – but I live in the UK – it is cold – and the right denier, shade of tight – I feel is really rather important – they really can make or break your outfit.
A style quote you live by: I think this is one of my fave quotes and it is definitely my fave designer, Alber Elbaz: “I have a problem to do a collection that is a secondary line. I mean, you don’t want to be the stepsister. You want to be Cinderella. Show me one girl who wants to be the stepsister.” Never a truer word – one to live by – and therein lies my love of the statement piece.
I know it’s Fashion AND Frank, but can you choose from these?
Flats or heels? Ooh now normally I would definitely say heels, but just recently I have been veering toward the flat – the ability to really stride, the freedom of it …
The 50s, the 60s ot the 70s? I do love a flare, so it’s the 70’s for me.
Stripes or floral? A fan of both – preferably together – sorry!
Leopard or snake? Hard to pick, but for this season the snake.
Audrey or Marilyn? Ooh hard, but Audrey (even though I am not a completely classic girl she just epitomizes so much grace).
The little black dress or any other colour? Yep, it is the little black dress.
Paris or Milan? Milan if only for the italians – love all that excitability.
Thank you, Claire. It’s been a pleasure. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and wishing you an equally wonderful and stylish week!
