Last week I heard something that marked me, not because it was a totally new thing to me, but because I had thought it myself without quite articulating it that way before. It went something like this: ‘If you look forward to Mondays, the world is yours.” How beautifully said! I’ve always been more enthusiastic about a new week than about the approaching weekend. I often have the feeling that the weekend slows me down. Maybe that’s a good thing, we all need a change of pace, but I so often have the impression that people are expecting too little of themselves by putting so much thought into finishing off a week.
It’s colder and windy today, maybe the first day of real autumn. I was in the mood for this kind of weather and these beautiful Ralph Lauren campaign photos fit perfectly into the scenery. So I’m celebrating autumn too this Monday.
And now I am happy to announce that the giveaway winner is … Alina. Congratulations! I hope you’ll enjoy The Sartorialist: Closer. Thank you everyone who participated. I loved reading your insightful comments and I wish I had a copy of the book for each one of you.
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
PS: Today I’m guest blogging on Little Bits of Lovely sharing a little fashion books guide. You know how much I love a good fashion read, so do stop by if you’d like to read my recommendations.

It’s cold and rainy here in London today so these beautiful pics definitely suit my mood! Congrats to Alina!
Congratulation for Alina! Ada, I think you are right, however most of us tend to become depressive when it comes to Monday, there were books written on the Sunday afternoon depression π I really like this ad campaign, foggy times are coming :D, but with Ralph Lauren, please!
Thank you Ada!!!
I can’t wait to receive The Sartorialist: Closer.
You made my day!
Bisous from Paris,
Alina
You’re very welcome, Alina. I hope you’ll enjoy the book. π
I love that quote! Consider it written down in my notebook. What a beautiful post.
It’s funny, I was thinking about this I-hate-Mondays attitude just this morning, thinking of how many people at some point started dreading Mondays and have never been able to break the habit. I’m like you, I love the beginning of a new week. But the reason could have something to do with the fact that I don’t have to show up at a workplace and spend my day there from 9-5. Maybe Mondays are better for those who are their own bosses.
Congratulations to the winner, as someone who has the book already I know she’ll be quite happy with her copy!
I agree, a 9-to-5 work schedule can be dreadful, or worse, not liking your job. I’ve been there, but I was still looking forward to Mondays. I don’t deny that owning your own business can be so uplifting, I know from my own experience, but I still believe that we are giving week-ends too much thought when it’s the beginning of a new week that we should be the most excited about.
Happy Monday, lovely pictures!
I definitely am not a Monday person, not too much of a weekend one either… Which, I guess, makes me complicated in a way. π What I do like is days off, but here and there instead of a scheduled one like, say, Saturday. And yes, I do like being busy rather than just sit around – I get bored of that.
Wishing you a beautiful week, Ada!

I’ve always preferred days off instead of the weekend too. I’d rather take a day off during the week and work on weekends. π
Congratulations! maybe next time I’ll be the winner ;-). have a nice monday, Ada.
What a beautiful way to look at life! I need to take a lesson because my outlook is the exact opposite…
And it’s the first real fall day here today too. Actually I think it was probably yesterday but I didn’t leave the house all weekend. Today I’m bundled up in layers…boots, tights, scarf and long sweater. Such a switch from Friday’s summer like temps. But truthfully, I’m actually excited about the refreshing cool weather.
Hope you’re having a lovely Monday, Ada! xoxo
Beautiful quote with absolutely lovely images.
Have a splendid week. xx
Beautiful images Ada, I will never tire of Ralph Lauren.

Hi Ada, what a brilliant quote – I too adore new beginnings so Monday is a great place to start. Congrats to the winner and Have a sunshiny day,
Axxx
what a great attitude! someone told me a few years ago that people’s mindset of “working for the weekend” is depressing because you wish away 5 days, and it’s stuck with me. if we can learn to find joy throughout the week full of responsibilities, maybe we’d all be a little happier. off to check out your guest post now! xo
Dear Ada, how are you? I cannot believe that I missed The Sartorialist giveaway…in any case, congratulations to Alina! I knew I could count on you for some beautiful reviews of the SS 2013 fashion weeks and I was glad to see that you featured Lisa on your style file: it was great to know a bit more about her preferences in fashion! Hope everything is well and now that I’m back I look forward to your daily posts…take care!
Congrats – and great to see those gorgeous photos again – they are stunning
