In my latest Style in Film blog post I was mentioning that Lauren Hutton’s wardrobe was designed by Basile. After a little research I discovered the Italian brand’s Spring/Summer collection from 1980, photographed by Irving Penn, and fell for this look. Isn’t it a leading look for spring? The only change I would make would be choosing a leather jacket instead of the cardigan. It would be more me. The styling is beautiful, and, with a different hair-do and jewellery, it would be up-do-date today, practical and modern again, more than three decades later. And there we have it again, sandals and stockings. If you’d like, you can see more of the collection here.

I love it (except for the cardigan)! A leather jacket, as you suggest, would complete the look in a better way. Bonne semaine à tous!
I agree, Alina. A leather jacket would make it truly timeless. Have a great week, too!
You’re right, that cardigan is a bit too much. I will take the shoes, thank you very much! They remind of this extremely uncomfortable pair I had many years ago, haha, but I wore them because I loved the style and I didn’t find any other similar (lesson learned, never doing that again!). I had a look at the other photos and loved the one with the suit and hat.
Definitely agree on the leather jacket! What a great find!!
oh, yes, i can see the leather jacket, that would be amazing with that dress and the styling. but really, you would almost never know this wasn’t current!
Isn’t crazy how the classic chic looks can always be in style. love this!
