I am sad to see Nicolas Ghesquière leave Balenciaga. His name has become synonymous with the fashion house. His innovative artistic vision and experimentation with form, essential to the influence of the house, his incredible talent in being original while referencing Cristóbal Balenciaga’s legacy (something that other designers at legendary Maisons find so difficult to attain) makes it impossible for me to imagine Balenciaga without him at its helms. Just look at these incredible clothes from my favourite Balenciaga ad campaign! Avant-garde beauty at its finest.

I think no one is irreplaceable but I admit that it will probably be a little hard to replace him. It will be very interesting to see where he’s going.
Beautiful campaign. Love photo No. 1.
This is such a stunning campaign Ada; I love the Avant-garde style that pushes the boundaries like this xx
Beautiful shapes! xo
Balenciaga once again flourished with him as creative director. It’s going to be interesting to see what a designer with his talent will do next and also, the new designer the fashion house will appoint.
Very cool! Love Balenciaga xxx
It’ll certainly be a huge change and a very strange feeling… Thank you for these beautiful photos – I remember the clothes, but can’t say the same about the campaign. Absolutely love it – that torn out effect is so beautiful and I am not even talking about the clothes – would die for the white coat.
Hope you had a great day, darling.

that red skirt! that white jacket! amazing!
As much as I liked him at Balenciaga, I have to admit I’m excited to see where he will go next–I think in some ways it’s such a great opportunity to see more of who he is and hopefully expand even more as a designer. Although, it’s definitely the end of the modern era of Balenciaga as we know it.

Love photo 1 2 & 3… it will be interesting to see what will become of the house after his departure and the changes that will inevitably occur… I wonder where he will end up?:)
Dear Ada, I knew that you would write a beautiful post about the ‘Balenciaga’ news. Yes, this is a surprising development, but as I wrote on Lisa’s blog, I hope that both Balenciaga and Ghesquiere will continue amking us dreaming with beautiful creations.
His work is amazing and inspiring. Absolutely love his work.
