The awards season has unfolded. There is going to be a lot more of red carpet glamour to be seen, but there is nothing I would love to wear more today than this modern, downtown chic outfit from the Rochas pre-fall collection. I think the whole trick to this look is the parka-socks-clutch juxtaposition, as well as the colour palette. Maybe the reason I love it so much is that it’s so me and in fact, I have often worn a variation of this ensemble this winter: green parka, grey wool dress, nude ankle boots, grey wool tights and red tote or my patchwork clutch in brown shades (a red splash of colour is a key element though).
I hope you had a very good weekend and I wish you a wonderful week!

A very chic, casual coat, love it! Would be perfect for walking Ollie fashionably instead of in my oldest, shabby gear;) Hope you had fun watching the Golden Globes and that you had a great weekend.
I’m loving designers’obession with parkas lately! It’s such a handy, useful piece yet which could be styled absolutely chic!

Im really obsessed with parkas at the moment. A couple of weeks ago I illustrated a similar one to this with an oversized mariniere jumper- just adore the easiness of the look!
Love the coat!
I can’t believe I missed the Golden Globes! I guess I am just going to have to rely on fellow bloggers showing me what I missed! As usual, this is a fabulous outfit! I’m now on the look-out for a green parka!
Have a fabulous week Ada.
May it be filled with many smiles and loads of laughter.

That is a great look! I can’t wait for winter. I’m sitting in 40C heat here in South Africa, it is unbearable!
Have a lovely week xx
Parkas can be so chic, especially when they are worn with feminine outfits like the Rochas grey dress! Ada, I look forward to your Golden Globe red carpet review and I cannot wait to see The Artist!
love that colour, classic and timeless
I’ve been telling everyone I work with for the past few months that the parka is the big news for fall and I love that you singled it out with a p.o.c. {!} It’s such a great look and time for a little switch up from the trench, which although I love it, I’m glad it’s time for something fresh and new. Happy Monday Ada, love your post!

i’m with you on that – would absolutely rather wear that outfit right now! parkas usually feel too bulky but the bare legs + socks balance it out perfectly.
Great parka! I can see why you like it and it looks so chic with the cute grey socks! Thanks for stopping by today, darling .. thanks for your always sweet words 😉 xo

I just got a Barbour Jacket for Christmas and a parka is my perfect “go to ” jacket on a daily basis…love this one!!
wonderful look not only because of the parka…love how everything looks together. beautiful! big hugs to you, Ada
I can’t really picture myself in socks, but parka and clutch definitely agree with me. 🙂 xxx
To be honest, I haven’t tried the socks-look. Nor do I think that I would look this good in them or that they would suit me at all. But every time I see this kind of look it undoubtfully appeals to me. 🙂
I bought at least 5 pairs of these socks from Calzedonia;) and I am now the happy owner of a great pair of ankle beige boots (small heels), so the outfit of Rochas is perfect for me, too! Still, that cozy coat is a must for the -3 degrees :D!
I love the green parka I think it gives and edgy look to a classy or preppy outfit! already following you!
