Just my favourite topic: fashion and cinema. In homage to the world of cinema Louis Vuitton will open a pop-up store in Cannes next to its original store on the Croisette, from May till August 2011, tailored to follow the rhythm of the International Film Festival. Decorated in a cinematic and seaside atmosphere, true to its location, with a long passageway like a pier to go through the entire store, it will be devided in two sections. The first one is focused on the Evening collections and iconic products, Cocktail Party by the Pool, Iconic Evening and Evening Grand Soir, which unveil a selection of ready-to-wear, leather goods and accessories from the collections designed by Marc Jacobs, while the second section will offer a lounge area with a dedicated space to showcase the Maison’s most beautiful pieces of jewelry and watches.
I can’t wait to see actual images of the store, to be able to admire properly this cinematic tribute (and the selective products, of course, such as the shoes below) of Louis Vuitton, creatively blending the spirit of the French Riviera with scenes from Wong Kar Wai’s movie In The Mood For Love, nominated for the Palme d’Or in 2000.
